Hello everyone!
I hope you all are having a wonderful June so far! We have been SO busy this month. We've launched our Kickstarter fundraiser (which I'll tell you more about below), started rehearsals for live shows, and started the mixing and mastering process for our album! Everything is leading to that surreal moment when the world is open again, and we can hit the ground running. We can't wait to share our music with you!
We've officially launched our Kickstarter campaign, and things are going great! We have 12 days left and have already raised $1,811 of our $5,000 goal. Before I get ahead of myself, let me explain why we are fundraising...
We released our first album, "If You're Out There," on February 28, 2020. At the time of the release, we'd already cemented tour dates in most of the southeast, plus some major cities across the United States. Like everyone else at the time, we were absolutely devastated when the national quarantine started, emotionally and financially. After an excruciatingly difficult year, we are beyond grateful to all be in good health, and we are well-rested and ready to go!
We're creeping closer to the finishing processes and subsequent release of our next album. A few weeks ago, I had a meeting with Will Turpin, the Collective Soul bassist who's producing this album, to discuss our release marketing plan. During the meeting, it became increasingly apparent that our current savings wouldn't be enough to cover a solid marketing plan. As soon as I got home that night, I started drafting our first-ever Kickstarter campaign.
$5,000 is our goal. Our deadline is June 26th. It's a big request for a band that never really got the chance to get going yet... but I'm confident. Our fans have been so generous thus far, and we still have 12 days to make this dream come true. People really believe in what we're doing, and that's an amazing feeling. The really scary part... if we don't meet our goal by the deadline, everyone is refunded, and the campaign is marked as a failure. As someone who doesn't like to fail at anything, it's kind of like a lingering doom. However, our community is stepping up and kicking that fear away. It's pretty freaking awesome.
